Fostering International Partnerships: Al-Mustaqbal University Active Engagement in the Closing Day of Iraq Education Conference 2026 Baghdad — October 2026 Al-Mustaqbal University successfully concluded its active participation in the second and final day of the 3rd Iraq Education Conference, held at the University of Baghdad under the theme (From Education to Development: Global Partnerships & Universities Shaping the Future). The university delegation, headed by President Prof. Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, included Advisor Prof. Dr. Mohsen Al-Freiji, Director of Academic Supervision Prof. Dr. Mudhaffar Al-Zuhairy, Dean of the College of Engineering Asst. Prof. Dr. Ali Shaker Majdi, alongside the Director of Al-Mustaqbal Renewable Energy Research Center, Prof. Dr. Salwan Obeid Waheed, and a panel of faculty members and researchers. On the sidelines of the second day, the delegation held constructive meetings with representatives from leading U.S. academic institutions, including Colorado University, UC Davis, and the OHLA Language Institute. The delegation also met with the Cultural Attaché at the U.S. Embassy in Baghdad to explore new horizons for joint academic collaboration, research exchange, and institutional development. The event featured a key panel discussion led by the Scientific Deputy Minister of Higher Education, Prof. Dr. Haider Abed Dhahad, with the participation of the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Prof. Dr. Haider Bahaa Al-Hasani, and the Minister of Planning, Dr. Qutaiba Ghazi. Discussions centered on transitioning toward "Productive Universities", aligning educational outcomes with labor market needs, and supporting sustainable development. This international engagement reinforces Al-Mustaqbal University and its research centers' strategic plan to advance academic internationalization and build sustainable global partnerships.
