Director of Al-Mustaqbal Center for Artificial Intelligence Applications Holds Meeting with Staff at the Start of the New Academic Year

Professor Dr. Mehdi Abadi Manaa, Director of Al-Mustaqbal Center for Artificial Intelligence Applications at Al-Mustaqbal University, held a meeting with the Center’s staff on Wednesday, September 23, 2026, coinciding with the start of the new academic year, to discuss the Center’s upcoming work plan and identify the scientific and technical priorities for the next stage. At the beginning of the meeting, the Center Director welcomed the staff members and emphasized the importance of starting the new academic year with a spirit of institutional teamwork and cooperation, contributing to enhancing performance and developing the services and activities provided by the Center in the fields of Artificial Intelligence, scientific research, and training. The meeting addressed several key areas, including developing an integrated scientific and research plan for the academic year, activating applied Artificial Intelligence projects, encouraging the preparation and publication of scientific research, organizing workshops and training courses, and strengthening cooperation with the University’s colleges and academic departments. The meeting also discussed mechanisms for developing the Center’s ongoing technological projects and expanding the use of Artificial Intelligence technologies to address real-world challenges. In addition, the participants reviewed mechanisms for following up and documenting scientific activities and events, as well as enhancing the Center’s presence in initiatives and programs related to digital transformation and innovation. Ministerial Committee Reviews Latest Technologies and Activities at Al-Mustaqbal Center for Artificial Intelligence Applications at Al-Mustaqbal University

As part of the scientific and technical follow-up of specialized activities and projects in the field of Artificial Intelligence, a Ministerial Committee conducted a field visit to Al-Mustaqbal Center for Artificial Intelligence Applications at Al-Mustaqbal University to review the latest technologies, projects, and activities carried out by the Center, as well as to follow up on its scientific and practical areas and the Ministry’s requirements and directives related to advancing Artificial Intelligence and digital transformation. The committee was received by Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, President of Al-Mustaqbal University, Professor Dr. Mehdi Abadi Manaa, Director of Al-Mustaqbal Center for Artificial Intelligence Applications, along with a number of the Center’s staff members. The University President welcomed the committee members, emphasizing the importance of such field visits in strengthening communication and coordination between the University and the Ministry, as well as in reviewing scientific and technical work in line with the directions of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. Advancing Research and Scientific Excellence In the field of scientific research, the Center has strengthened its international research presence through the work of Prof. Dr. Mahdi Abadi Mani, Director of Al-Mustaqbal Center for Artificial Intelligence Applications. Among these achievements is his research entitled “Proactive Deep Q-Learning Approach for Anomaly Detection in IoT IDSs,” which focuses on applying deep reinforcement learning and artificial intelligence techniques to develop proactive approaches for detecting anomalies and cyberattacks in Internet of Things (IoT) networks. The Center has also contributed to international scientific publishing through Prof. Dr. Mahdi Abadi Mani’s chapter entitled “A Hybrid MADRL Model for Task Scheduling in 5G Cloud Radio Access Networks,” published as part of the proceedings of the Third International Conference on Innovations in Intelligent Informatics, Networking, and Cybersecurity (3INC 2025) by Springer Nature in the Communications in Computer and Information Science (CCIS) series. One notable example is the project “Predictive System for Diabetes and Heart Diseases Using Explainable AI (XAI),” which participated in the National University Championship for Robotics and Artificial Intelligence Applications (NURAI 2026) in the medical track and received a Very Good evaluation. The project reflects the Center’s approach to encouraging students to employ artificial intelligence in addressing real-world challenges, particularly in healthcare, while emphasizing the importance of explainability and responsible AI.
