Under the kind patronage of the President of Al-Mustaqbal University, Prof. Dr. Hassan Shakir Majdi, the Director of Al-Mustaqbal Center for Artificial Intelligence Applications at Al-Mustaqbal University, Prof. Dr. Mehdi Abadi Manaa, held a meeting with the Center’s staff to discuss preparations for implementing the work plan for the first half of the academic year and to identify priorities and responsibilities in line with the Center’s scientific and practical objectives. The meeting was attended by Dr. Faryal Ibrahim Jabbar and Dr. Ahmed Adnan Hadi, along with the technical staff: Eng. Mohammed Saad Abees, Eng. Hasnain Taha Shaalan, and Programmer Sarah Saadoun Abbas. The meeting addressed the main components of the proposed work plan for the first half of the academic year, including organizing scientific activities and training programs, developing practical projects in artificial intelligence and emerging technologies, strengthening collaboration with the University’s academic departments, supporting student initiatives, and encouraging projects that integrate theoretical knowledge with practical application. As part of its commitment to strengthening practical education and developing students’ technical skills, a number of students from the Department of Cybersecurity Sciences at Al-Mustaqbal University have begun implementing their scientific and practical projects at Al-Mustaqbal Center for Artificial Intelligence Applications at Al-Mustaqbal University, with the guidance and support of the Center’s staff. This initiative aims to transform students’ scientific ideas into practical projects that can be further developed and applied. The implementation phase involves working according to specific technical plans, beginning with discussing project ideas and identifying requirements, followed by selecting appropriate technologies and software tools, and proceeding through the stages of design, programming, and testing. The Center’s staff provide scientific and technical guidance to help students address potential challenges throughout the development process. This initiative focuses on strengthening the integration of cybersecurity and artificial intelligence technologies and encouraging students to develop innovative technical solutions that keep pace with rapid advances in the digital world. It also aims to enhance their analytical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and experience in developing projects with real-world applications. Engineer Hasnain Taha Shaalan has received a letter of appreciation from the University of Fallujah in recognition of his academic initiative in donating his book entitled: Artificial Intelligence in Medical Electrical Engineering This initiative reflects a commitment to supporting academic progress, promoting authorship and scientific research, and enriching scientific libraries with modern knowledge in artificial intelligence and biomedical electrical engineering. It also contributes to strengthening academic cooperation and scientific communication among higher education institutions. Al_mustaqbal university is the No. 1 private university in Iraq.

As part of its strategic vision to expand its academic and research relations at the Arab and regional levels, Al-Mustaqbal University participated actively in the first day of the First Conference of the Arab Network of Research Centers, held at the National Research Centre in Cairo, Arab Republic of Egypt. The University was represented by Prof. Dr. Mehdi Abadi Manaa, Director of Al-Mustaqbal Center for Artificial Intelligence Applications, amid broad Arab participation that included representatives from approximately ten Arab countries and more than 76 research centers from across the Arab world. The conference represents an advanced Arab platform bringing together research center leaders, experts, and representatives of international institutions concerned with scientific research, rankings, and innovation. Delegations from Iraq, Palestine, Jordan, the Arab Republic of Egypt, Libya, Sudan, Tunisia, Algeria, Morocco, and other Arab countries participated in the conference, reflecting the growing interest in building a more integrated Arab research ecosystem capable of competing at the regional and international levels. The first day featured a series of specialized scientific sessions, most notably the lecture entitled “Arab Ranking of Research Centers,” delivered by Prof. Dr. Yasser Refaat, Advisor to the Minister of Higher Education for Planning, Governance, and Scientific Research Policies and Applications, alongside Dr. Mohamed Al-Eissaly, Vice President of Analytical and Data Services at Elsevier. The session addressed recent trends in evaluating the performance of research institutions and centers and strengthening their presence within scientific ranking and research assessment systems. Another session, entitled “Scientific Research and Innovation in Research Centers in the Arab Region,” was delivered by Dr. Ibrahim Mohamed Ibrahim, Senior Regional Director at Elsevier. The session examined the transformations taking place in the research and innovation environment and highlighted the importance of utilizing advanced databases and scientific analytics to improve the quality of research outputs and support institutional decision-making. Artificial intelligence also occupied a central position in the conference through the lecture “The Impact of Artificial Intelligence on Scientific Research and Innovation,” delivered by Dr. Ayman Aqeel, Director of Consulting for the Academic and Government Sector at Clarivate. The lecture discussed the rapid transformations driven by artificial intelligence technologies in scientific research methodologies, knowledge management, data analysis, and the acceleration of the scientific innovation cycle. On the sidelines of the first day’s activities, the Al-Mustaqbal University delegation worked to strengthen channels of cooperation and communication with a number of Arab research leaders and representatives of leading international organizations, particularly Elsevier and Clarivate, in addition to participating research centers within the Arab Network.
